Try something different and add a little spice to the traditional G&T.

Spicy G&T

Serves 1


1 3/4 ounces chile-steeped gin

3 splashes molasses bitters

5 ounces tonic water

lime slice, to garnish

Chile-Steeped Gin

1 dried pasilla chile

1 1/2 cups gin


  1. To make the chile-steeped gin, slice the chile in half lengthwise and put it into the gin bottle. Let steep for one week.
  2. To make the cocktail, fill a Collins or highball glass with a handful of ice cubes.
  3. Add the gin and molasses bitters and top with tonic water.
  4. Garnish with the lime slice and serve immediately.
