BOULEVARD DU PARC, DLP
the best of all is right before.
i try to be the first, the one to see a sign:
“look, there! look, left!”
and the tallest bits of magic meet our eyes.
mine squint, full of tears.
shots of pink — i remember the smell — and
a rocket that could take me to space, a
tower i’m never quite brave enough to climb.
but maybe this time.
This poem is from Sophie Jo’s collective work: kids grown up. Sophie Jo was kind enough to send us a copy and we loved her work so much we just had to share it!
